Diane Pierotti | Chief Financial and Operating Officer
Diane Pierotti is the Chief Financial and Operating Officer at BioMADE. She has over thirty years of experience spearheading, launching and managing large scale, complex research initiatives across scientific disciplines. She is a graduate of UC-Berkeley where she spent the majority of her career. At Berkeley, Diane conceptualized, developed and shepherded large-scale initiatives and programs through successful resource procurement, launches and implementation. Notable efforts include the National Center for the Workplace, QB3 Institute, NSF Synthetic Biology Engineering Research Center (Synberc), and Energy Biosciences Institute (EBI). At Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory she currently serves as the Deputy of Operations for the Biological Systems and Engineering Division and the COO for the Joint BioEnergy Institute (JBEI). She has a breadth of experience managing large scale, multi-partner, public-private research initiatives and programs significantly contributing to the receipt of over $2B in extramural research awards. She has also founded and launched multiple community non-profits.
