Rafael Jiménez | Techno-Economic Analyst

Rafael Jiménez is the Techno-Economic Analyst at BioMADE. Rafael’s scientific expertise is in Synthetic Biology and Metabolic Engineering with a doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware. After receiving his Ph.D., Rafael consulted for the petrochemical and chemical, industry in and around Houston Texas as a technical expert of the field for large, medium, and small start-up companies. Dr. Jimenez was a postdoctoral employee at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory at the Joint BioEnergy Institute (JBEI) after consulting in Texas developing new microbial strains for the biotech sector. Right before BioMADE, Rafael was the lead of strain engineering for Black Sheep Foods Inc. in its early startup stages where he clearly understood the need for the guidance provided by a Techno-Economic analysis to ascertain the pressure points and sensitivities of a start up venture in biotech.
