BioMADE Webinar Series | Secure Innovation: Security from the Start to Safeguard our Future

Join the National Counterintelligence and Security Center (NCSC) on July 23, 2025, at 1:00pm CT / 11:00 am PT to learn about their work with partners across the U.S. Government and the private sector to provide expertise and guidance on a range of topics related to counterintelligence and security, including insider threats, investment security, cyber threats, supply chain risks, and foreign threats.

In 2024, NCSC jointly launched Secure Innovation – a collection of resources, products, and cost-effective recommendations produced by the Five Eyes countries (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK, and the US) for startups, companies, investors, and others in the innovation community to adopt “security from the start” in order to protect their ideas, reputations, and future success.

The U.S. is a global leader in research and development and has vibrant start-up and emerging technology ecosystems. This can make American companies attractive targets for hostile actors (including foreign adversaries) looking to steal technology, gain competitive or military advantage, or exploit security weaknesses. The five principles of the Secure Innovation campaign can help companies initiate due diligence and mitigation practices to safeguard their investments and protect their competitive advantage:

  1. Know the Risks

  2. Secure Your Environment

  3. Secure Your Products

  4. Secure Your Partnerships

  5. Secure Your Growth

By understanding and implementing these principles, companies can both protect themselves from threats and make themselves more attractive to investors and customers. During this webinar, NCSC will provide an overview of Secure Innovation, highlighting case studies and additional resources.
