Bridging Government and Industry
BioMADE connects the U.S. Government with innovative private sector companies, providing access to technologies and products in an agile and cost-effective way. BioMADE is composed of a wide array of subject matter experts and seasoned industry professionals. We are ideally suited to help U.S. Government stakeholders identify and engage a full product development pipeline to move biotechnology innovations from basic R&D, through development, and on to fieldable products through various contracting mechanisms. Our program management team can ensure your projects are established with realistic budgets and timelines, and keep them on track for the life of the program. Reach out to govprojects@biomade.org to set up a meeting with our team.

Why Bioindustrial Manufacturing?
Enhance military readiness: Bioindustrial manufacturing has the power to enhance military readiness, address contested logistics challenges, and protect warfighters
Staying ahead of China: Near peer adversaries are developing biotechnology and biomanufacturing efforts and the U.S. is at risk of falling behind. China has invested billions in biomanufacturing capabilities, technologies, and infrastructure. America must invest now to retain technological and manufacturing superiority
Secure domestic supply chains: End reliance on foreign inputs and build a domestic, protectable, and redundant supply chain for needed chemicals and materials with bioindustrial manufacturing
Support American farmers and rural communities: Because it starts with feedstocks grown by American farmers, bioindustrial manufacturing brings the entire production lifecycle from R&D to manufacturing to the U.S. and provides jobs to rural communities
Protect America’s national security and economic prosperity: Bioindustrial manufacturing gives America the opportunity to protect our national security and grow our economy for generations to come
Partnering with BioMADE
By engaging with BioMADE, government agencies can:
Access and catalyze innovative biomanufactured products and chemical building blocks
Quickly identify project teams to rapidly develop and test bio-based solutions to specific problems
Produce novel bio-based products in quantities relevant for testing and evaluation, by both traditional and nontraditional defense contractors
Develop a transition pipeline to operationalize biotechnology products and improve supply chain resilience
Access BioMADE’s forthcoming network of pilot- and demonstration-scale infrastructure
Attend the annual Member Meeting, a key networking event for DoD stakeholders to meet with industry leaders and learn about market-ready biomanufactured products
Share insights into government needs, information on requirements processes and pathways to acquisition, and guidance on successfully transitioning products and technologies to a wide array of innovative companies, including nontraditional members of the defense industrial base
Techno-Economic Analysis Services
BioMADE can help inform government investment decisions through techno-economic analysis services. BioMADE conducts techno-economic assessments of biomanufactured products that range from early research product development (MRL3) to more mature and tested manufacturing (MRL7).
Working with BioMADE can help government agencies convert early research efforts into pointed strategies to develop attainable and cost-effective novel manufacturing, highlighting the sensitive knowledge gaps. BioMADE also examines previously developed research by highlighting current and other potential markets, assessing expansions, optimizations, and modifications and verifying the future value proposition. Reach out to govprojects@biomade.org if you’re interested in discussing TEA services.
