OUSD R&E Industry Day Announcement

Members, please see the announcement below from the Office of the Principal Director for Biotechnology at OUSD(R&E).

Mark your calendars for the 20th of September, when the Department of Defense (DoD) unveils a new investment initiative geared toward those looking to enhance the US bioeconomy. You are invited to hear DoD kickoff a five-year major capital investment program in commercial-scale biomanufacturing following the 6th Commercializing Industrial Biotechnology conference. This program complements BioMADE’s ongoing effort to establish a national network of pilot-scale biomanufacturing facilities and is focused on developing commercial-scale infrastructure to directly enable domestic production of DoD-relevant bioproducts. The Industry Day forum is to assist BioMADE members, biotechnology businesses, manufacturers, and consortia in their quest to expand US commercial-scale biomanufacturing capacity and to commercialize bio-products.

We invite US businesses and stakeholders to join government representatives for Biomanufacturing Industry Day in Berkeley, CA on September 20, 2023. It's an excellent chance for those involved in, or wishing to support, accelerated growth of our domestic biomanufacturing infrastructure.

Together, we will delve into:

  • The strategic timeline of the DoD’s commercial-scale biomanufacturing capacity investments

  • How to effectively work with Government infrastructure investment contracts

  • Aligning domestic biomanufacturing production capabilities to DoD market needs

  • Innovations that fortify our supply chain infrastructure

  • Industry insights and reflections on our program goals

The Biomanufacturing Industry Day is an in-person event and offers a dynamic platform for collaboration and interaction with program representatives. We look forward to your inputs and participation. Seating is limited. Advance Registration required at: https://cvent.me/e4MPoo
